Friends of Chapel Green School

Friends of Chapel Green School was established in 1972.

We are a group of individuals committed to raise much needed funds for the School. The Committee is a mixture of retired individual, business directors, parents of children within the school, the head teacher, and members of staff.

Historically we have done this by holding an annual Fete in the summer and a Christmas Fayre. We have also organised Quiz nights and seasonal events for the pupils to enjoy.

Our next events are,

Tuesday 2nd April - Easter Egg Hunt & Activity Afternoon, 11 - 3pm

Saturday 18th May - Family Quiz Evening, doors open at 5pm (Tickets purchased via the school Office)

Saturday 22nd June - Summer Fete, 12 noon - 4pm

Friday 25th October - Halloween Trail, time tbc

Saturday 30th November - Christmas Market, 12 noon - 4pm

The money we raise goes towards completing projects that benefit the pupils learning, play and community engagement. As well as purchasing smaller items such as bikes, trikes and scooters, a class gift at Christmas and learning resources. Most recently we have funded:

A school minibus with tail lift, contributing £18,000 with the remainder of the cost being paid by a sponsor.

A large set of swings in the main play ground and a single swing in the Early Years Department costing £12,000.

A new Kitchen Garden is currently being created. This has been planned and funded by the Friends and will be completed in early April 2024. This includes 19 beds which are accessible to wheelchair users, a new shed, watering system, patio area and pergola. Tools will be provided by the Friends to maintain the garden and produce goods.

The next project is currently being discussed.

We would like to thank you for all your donated items and gifts over the years in helping to raise funds. We would not be able to raise the money to make the difference without your support.

WE NEED YOU...We are looking for new members to join the Friends committee, to inject new ideas and help with planned/planning activities to raise money for the school. If you would like to help but cannot commit to being on the committee, would you be able to be on a list of volunteers that we can call on for help at fetes or activities? Your support is very much needed to support our events.
