Speech and Language Therapy

Support aims to develop all aspects of language including communication, speech and understanding as well as swallowing and eating difficulties. Professional expertise is provided by Cambridgeshire Community Services.

The therapists supports school staff to create a good communication environment for all pupil. They provide advice and set goals for pupils on their caseload, school staff then work on these areas. They also offer training for staff to enable them to support pupils in the most effective ways. 

The school follows a Total Communication approach, tailored to the needs of the pupil. This includes, but is not limited to: speech, signing (we use Signalong), objects of reference and visual supports such as photos, core boards, communication books, symbols and iPads.
